We believe in action:

In our advocacy efforts, we shrink spaces between migrant communities and governing bodies through organizing and campaigning. This includes engagement in international review processes, participation in multi-stakeholder meetings, as well as advocacy trainings and leadership programs.

Advocacy Features: 2021

In 2021, we joined the international community in celebrating 25 years

of the Beijing Declaration and Platform by organizing an event at the

Generation Equality Forum with our partners ILGA World, CEPAZ,

Women with Disabilities Development Foundation, Women’s Refugee

Commission, International Domestic Workers Federation, Venezolanes

Globales, Hungarian Helsinki Committee, and the Forcibly Displaced

Peoples Network. Revisit the event below.

2021 CMGJ + Partners “Gender Justice Reaching Beyond Borders and Binaries”

In 2021, we launched our inaugural Migrant Youth Leadership Program

(MYLP). The first MYLP focused on migration, GBV, and the Istanbul

Convention and brought together a cohort of ten migrant youth

(aged 18-25) from across Europe.

Advocacy Features: 2020

In 2020, our advocacy focused on the gendered impacts of

COVID-19 on migration. For example, in our co-organized

UN High-Level Political Forum side event

“Collaborate to Accelerate: Gendered Health” with the

Kota Alliance, we shared preliminary findings from

our research on the matter. Watch the recordings below.

2020 CMGJ + Kota “Migration and Gender in the COVID Era”

As part of our multi-year Spotlight Project,

“Migration and the EU Gender Equality Strategy,” we

held a conference with New Women Connectors to

“reimagine” a migrant-inclusive implementation of

the Strategy. The recording is available below.
